Built on Real Experience, Focused on Your Future

Back in 2019, three financial analysts sat in a cramped Adelaide office wondering why no one was teaching practical financial stability analysis the way businesses actually needed it. That conversation turned into xaltriovia.

We started small—teaching weekend workshops to local business owners who needed to understand their numbers better. The feedback was immediate and honest. People wanted real skills, not theory. So that's what we built.

Where We Started

The three of us had spent years working in corporate finance, watching companies make the same preventable mistakes. Cash flow problems that could have been spotted months earlier. Growth decisions made without proper analysis. Risk assessments that missed obvious warning signs.

We kept thinking—someone should teach this stuff properly. Eventually we realized that someone might as well be us.

Our first course had eight students. We taught it in a borrowed conference room on Saturday mornings. Six months later, we had a waiting list and started looking for proper space. By late 2020, xaltriovia had become our full-time focus.

Fiona Walsh leading financial analysis workshop

Fiona Walsh

Lead Instructor, Risk Analysis

Spent twelve years at National Australia Bank before getting tired of corporate politics. Loves teaching business owners how to spot financial problems before they become disasters. Still drinks too much coffee.

DM

Duncan MacLeod

Senior Instructor, Cash Flow

Former CFO who got bored of quarterly reports and wanted to actually help people understand numbers. Specializes in making complex financial concepts sound less intimidating. Terrible at remembering names but excellent with spreadsheets.

RL

Raj Lohani

Instructor, Forecasting Methods

Came to Australia from India in 2016 to work in investment analysis. Joined xaltriovia in 2023 after realizing he enjoyed explaining financial concepts more than creating pitch decks. Known for using cricket analogies to explain variance analysis.

What Actually Matters to Us

These aren't corporate values pulled from a consulting deck. They're the things we actually talk about when deciding how to run courses and work with students.

Practical Over Perfect

We teach methods that work in real business situations, not theoretical models that look good on paper. If something only works in ideal conditions, we don't waste your time with it.

Questions Welcome Always

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask because you're worried about looking foolish. Financial analysis has enough jargon—we'd rather spend time making sure you understand than covering more material.

Honest About Limitations

Financial analysis helps you make better decisions. It doesn't predict the future or guarantee success. We're upfront about what these skills can and cannot do.

Learning Takes Time

You're not going to master financial stability analysis in a weekend workshop. Our programs run six to twelve months because that's how long it actually takes to build real competence.

Ready to Start Learning?

Our next program intake is scheduled for September 2025. Classes fill up, so it's worth getting in touch sooner rather than later if you're interested.
